We are currently recruiting for a
Instrumentation & Controls Technician
Ideal candidate has industrial experience in mechanical and electrical instrumentation and controlsand is a self-motivated, energetic team player with excellent communication skills.
Candidates must demonstrate a detailed working knowledge in a number of technical areas to be a valuable technical resource.
Electrical Requirements
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and program PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers) of the following type. (Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered)
* Allen Bradley ControlLogix using RSLogixs 5000
* Allen Bradley PLC-5 series using RSLogixs 5
* Allen Bradley SLC-500/?Micrologix series Using RSLogix 500
* Familiarity with Allen Bradley Panelview and RSView32
Candidate must demonstration the ability to troubleshoot and configure the following communications networks and protocols:
* ControlNet DeviceNet EtherNet/?IP Data Highway Plus
* DH/?485 Remote I/?O
Candidate must demonstration the ability to troubleshoot and configure the following AC/DC drives:
* Allen Bradley PowerFlex series
* Allen Bradley 1336, 1305, 160 series
* DC drives
Candidate must demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of processing instrumentation equipment.? Candidate must possess skills to calibrate and troubleshoot the following:
* Mass flow meters DP transmitters Level probes
* Modulation valves
Candidates should have computer skills using all the appropriate business computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and related programs.? Programs like SAP and other MES systems are a plus.?
Candidate's experience or familiarity with servo motion control systems is beneficial.?
Candidates must know basic as well as complex motor control circuits.?
Mechanical Requirements:
* Candidate must demonstrate the ability to read technical manuals and drawings.?
* Candidate must demonstrate a basic understanding of mechanical drive systems.?
* Candidate must demonstrate the ability to use hand tools and power tools.?
Basic mechanical fabrication, machine shop, and installation skills would be beneficial.?
Must be able to perform as well as show past examples of work.?
Candidates for the position will be evaluated in five ways -- technical aptitude, educational credentials, leadership skills, work experience and performance.?
Other Required Skills
Candidate must also possess the ability to plan, schedule, and complete work orders.? Responsibilities include upkeep of all phases of plant operations.? Must be able to display necessary leadership and training ability to lead and teach other maintenance mechanics.? All work must be conducted in accordance with OSHA Safety Standards.?
Technical Aptitude:
This role required a diverse set of mechanical and electrical based skills. The primary technical skill the candidate must possess relates to work with industrial electricity, electronics, and instrumentation. The plant has a variety of electrical/electronic applications that must be maintained, calibrated and repaired.? The candidate must be able to independently develop test procedures and set up test and calibration equipment, as well as train other mechanics in its operation and maintenance. Candidate may not have skills in all programming environments and languages but should possess the ability, aptitude and drive to troubleshooting these systems with a minimum of supervision so as to support manufacturing.?
Education and Work Experience:
Industrial type work experience of at least 5 years.? Candidate can substitute successful completion of a two (2) year college curriculum in technical areas (pre-engineering) AND/?OR vocational school certificates of completion training in electronics, electrical, PLC or mechanical technical areas.? Other vendor courses in machining, electricity, welding, microprocessor, electronics or instrument repair or air conditioning -- refrigeration are highly desirable and may be considered as experience.? A wide exposure to various technical areas during past work experiences will be evaluated on an individual bases.?
Leadership Skills:
Candidate must display safe work practices and demonstrate those behaviors on a consistent basis.? Candidates must be able to present information to groups with confidence.? Demonstrate enthusiasm and pride in their work.? Demonstrate initiative and ownership in addressing problems as they arise without supervision and develop creative and implement effective solutions.? Candidate must be able to lead groups in project objectives.?
Pay Rate: Negotiable based on candidate qualifications
