Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Technician (level T2) for the Reno Operations. The candidate will be based in Golder's Elko, Nevada office but will be expected to travel as required for project work up to 100 percent of the time. The candidate must be willing and able to travel and work at projects within the United States and internationally.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; construction observation, field and laboratory testing, special inspection, and design interpretation to ensure projects are completed in accordance with project design drawings and technical specifications. The position requires working on projects including earthworks grading, geomembrane liner, concrete, structural steel, and various other construction materials.
The candidate will be expected be able to work independently and lead teams of CQA technicians. The position requires interaction with contractors, owners, and designers in a professional and constructive manner to solve issues that arise during construction. As a senior technician, the candidate must have the ability to write detailed professional field reports, provide organized documentation of inspection activities, fill out laboratory test forms, and assist with the writing and preparation of as:built reports.
In addition to CQA duties on established projects, the candidate will be expected to pursue business opportunities with the goal of eventually developing a sustainable special inspection practice. Position responsibilities include:
* Construction Observation;
* Field and Laboratory Testing;
* Special Inspection Services;
* Lead and manage CQA teams;
* Interface with client, contractor, and designer;
* Write detailed daily field reports, test forms, and inpection summaries;
* Assist preparing and writing CQA summary reports;
* Business development for special inspection services.
Job Requirements
* High school diploma;
* 5 plus years of experience;
MSHA 24 hour Surface Miner Safety Training;
* ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification;
* ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector Certification;
* Nuclear Gauge/Troxler Safety Training;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;
* Strong writing and math skills.
Additional training/certifications not specifically required but that will be considered during the application process include the following:
* NAQTC Sample/Density Certification;
* ICC Masonry;
* ICC Fireproofing;
* ICC Steel and Welding Special Inspector Certification.
