Registered Nurse_Skilled Requisition ID: 136807 Department: 740120 Medicare Skilled Unit Facility: Renown Skilled Nursing Schedule: Full Time - Eligible for Benefits Shift: Day Hours: 32 Category: Nursing Location: Sparks, NV Position Purpose: Under the general direction of the DON and supervisor, this position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of evidence based nursing practice and the theory of human caring. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient care and outcomes over an entire episode of care. The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing services to adult and geriatric patients; including their families and caregivers. This position provides direct patient care. Nature and Scope: The Registered Nurse must provide optimal patient/resident care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of adult, and geriatric patients and families. The Registered Nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department Competence with Special Populations standards. When possible, the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts of the Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse coordinates care between other professionals. Evidence based nursing practice along with critical thinking skills are required to provide optimally safe patient care when interacting with internal and external contacts and exercising judgment and making decisions. Professional nursing practice is congruent with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. It is common to encounter potential hazards in the healthcare environment. Some of these hazards could include, but are not limited to: radiation, toxic chemicals, biological hazards, heat, noise, dust and stress.
