Based in Reno, NV, this position will be responsible for the implementation of sustainable continuous improvement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and reduce cost. The successful candidate will focus on the development and standardization of best practices from an operations, technology and business process standpoint. It will also manage the delivery of training programs associated with problem solving and continuous improvement.
+ Lead or coordinate key cross-functional improvement teams across the company
+ Ensure all improvement initiatives have clearly defined goals and benefits
+ Develop metrics to measure progress toward successful implementation of projects in the portfolio.
+ Identify and take immediate corrective action to resolve any shortfalls to plan through regular meetings with operations managers and staffs.
+ Ensure that resource deployment is adequate to achieve agreed upon results.
+ Maintain a high team commitment to achieving project results
+ Drive continuous improvement culture throughout EP Minerals.
+ Standardize tools, training and framework for continuous improvement.
+ Assess and drive improvement in continuous improvement tools and practices, benchmarking externally, to ensure business needs are being met.
+ Conduct continuous improvement and problem-solving training to develop a Continuous Improvement Program that drives business excellence.
+ Drive quality control efforts throughout EP Minerals
+ Develop, execute and manage master scheduling efforts to improve on-time delivery to our customers
+ Serve as the internal technical expert for the practical application of continuous improvement and problem-solving tools and techniques
+ 5S implementation
+ OEE, development of Std. Work on all critical tasks in all departments
+ Minimum BS/BA Degree, preferably in engineering or chemistry; MBA/MA preferred
+ Must have prior leadership experience
+ Minimum 10 years business experience with at least five years of deep experience in business improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing.
+ Experience in an industrial minerals or chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
+ Skilled in Change Management
+ Experience in manufacturing environment, supply chain and quality systems.
+ Experience with continuous improvement tools (e.g. Lean, SPC, statistical analyses, problem solving, benchmarking, running kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Kanban, A3 s, DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve control)
+ Excellent project management and organizational skills
+ Strong analytical and decision-making skills including forecasting ability, measuring the success of team members, monitoring team and individual goals and sharing success factors with the team.
+ Exhibit strong statistical skills (i.e., Master Black Belt) to drive continuous improvement in material and labor efficiency improvement projects using Six Sigma tools.
+ Proven ability to establish, maintain and influence effective working relationships with internal and external customers
+ Capable of delivering results through influencing peers inside and outside of the operations team
