Hours: Days, swing and grave shifts, able to work up to 14hrs Updated: 9.30.14
Job Summary:Build and maintain terrain parks, half pipes, and boarder cross area using Grooming vehicles in compliance with the Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows safety policies and procedures.

Applicants must be 18 years of age.
Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
1. Prepare and maintain features and a skiing/snowboard surface that is safe and functional for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels using Grooming vehicles.
2. Operate grooming vehicle in compliance with the company safety policies & procedures. Emphasis on highest degree of quality work.
3. Cover rocks and obstacles in the Terrain Park. Move snow from low wear areas to high wear areas.
4. Perform light to medium manual labor such as changing implements, vehicle check-outs and miscellaneous other chores.
5. Check all fluid levels in machines and add fluids if necessary.
6. Operate all machine functions, such as blade controls, rear implement controls and steering.
7. Communicate all maintenance requirements for grooming equipment to Vehicle Maintenance.
8. Perform thorough safety check of machine at beginning and end of shift, and legibly fills check out sheets.
9. Shovel snow from implements and bed at end of shift.
10. Report and clean up any fluid spills or leaks.
11. Maintain and thoroughly clean cab of grooming vehicle at end of shift.
Competencies and Job Requirements:
Required:
1. Effective communication skills, oral & written, must be able to clearly communicate on two-way radio in appropriate language.
2. Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness
3. Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
4. Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards
5. Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
6. Work well as part of a team.
7. Required to ski or snowboard on snow and ice, and up and down hill, while carrying equipment.
8. Able to work with minimum supervision
Education and Experience:
Required:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. One year snowcat operation experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
3. Equipment operation background and experience with diesel engine/hydraulic machines
4. Ski area experience
5. Basic knowledge and Troubleshooting skills grooming equipment
6. Valid driver's license with no restrictions
Preferred:
1. Mechanical skills
2. Current EMT card

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, and ski. Must be capable of sitting for long periods of time, up to 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally balancing, climbing,
reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 75bs Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth
perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may encounter extreme winter cold and blizzard conditions.
Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate, this job may experience hazards such as mechanical, electrical, fumes, odors, dusts, gases.
