Minimum Qualifications: 1. Associate's Degree- Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis on birth-5 years of age. 2. Three years' experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education program,. 3. Two years' experience with adult supervision in a licensed ECE program, 4. Two years' experience implementing a quality improvement system. 5. Ability to comply with the State of Nevada Child Care Licensing Regulations; Maintain NAC accreditation professional development standards; Certification relevant to ECE; Nevada Teacher License relevant to working with ages birth-5 years Responsibilities Candidates must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds. 1. Meet regularly with Co-Teacher(s) to develop weekly plans and activities for assigned age group. 2. Meet with Center Co-Teachers and Director to review curriculum plans, activities and evaluation of program effectiveness and efficiencies. 3. Work with classroom staff to plan and implement the daily program of activities based on principles of child development and in accordance with the program's curriculum, accreditation and licensing. 4. Review with staff the progress of each child in order to develop written plans that promote each child's development, learning and well-being. 5. Set up and maintain a well-organized, safe, attractive, and welcoming classroom environment to support the optimal development and well-being of children. 6. Help maintain classrooms, play yards and other areas of the Center in a safe, fun and educational environment. 7. Provide day-to-day supervision, support and evaluation to classroom employees, college students and volunteers; share relevant and as needed classroom and Center information. 8. Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of positive-self, personal-discipline and age appropriate learning. 9. Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests and needs; document and incorporate observation information to facilitate and support learning and development. 10. Implement, twice yearly and as warranted, developmental and behavioral screenings. 11. Maintain thorough and ongoing records on each child's progress and development for the purpose of planning, parent engagement and program improvement. 12. Conduct individual parent conferences at least twice a year, or as warranted, to discuss each child's development and well-being. 13. Establish a positive relationship with each child's family and share information about the child's day at the Center. 14. Coordinate and work closely with parents to support their child's development and well-being. 15. Work directly with an interdisciplinary team to fully implement an IEP for children with special needs. 16. Assist the Center Director and Co-Workers in providing orientation and training for new and existing staff and volunteers. 17. Attend all staff meetings and in-service training provided at the Center. 18. Work and with Center Director and Co-Workers in planning and participating in parent and Center activities. 19. Collaborate with TMCC and other NSHE faculty to support adult learning. 20. Maintain current and working knowledge of the Early Childhood Education profession. 21. Comply with licensing, accreditation and other regulatory agencies. 22. Comply with Child Care Center, Truckee Meadows Community College and Nevada System of Higher Education policy and procedure. 23. Understand and accept the role to be played as a partner in an educational enterprise serving the best interests of the students. 24. Other duties as assigned.
