This position will oversee general functions of the welding shop as it relates to student use for completion of class projects. The incumbent will supervise distribution and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies from the shop's tool crib and will conduct or order maintenance as needed. This position will also assist students as they complete class projects in the lab setting and monitor lab users for adherence to general safety standards. This position is located at the Applied Technologies Center, 475 Edison Way, Reno, NV. Required Qualifications Completion of an approved welding apprenticeship training program followed by one year of journey level welding experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. This position requires having a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Preferred Qualifications Applicants with proficiency in the SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW processes are encouraged to apply. Applicants with current AWS certification are encouraged to apply. Applicants with previous experience in welding training are encouraged to apply. Schedule The typical work schedule is Monday through Saturday - five days a week, variable work schedule, which may include evenings. This is subject to change based on organizational needs.
