Reporting directly to the CFO, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting the daily, weekly, monthly and annual transactions for the organization. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls. The position will also serve as a business partner to the Plant Manager. The specific objective and responsibility is to manage the Accounting Department for SA Automotive - Reno. Some of the specific duties are listed below. This is not meant to be an all inclusive list: 1. Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization 2. Establishes major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations. 3. Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances 4. Reviews capitalized items and advises management 5. Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary 6. The Controller has the final responsibility for providing effective financial controls for the organization 7. Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets 8. Keeps the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives 9. May recommend the hiring or removal of personnel 10. Performs department personnel evaluations 11. Recommends training 12. Other duties and responsibilities as required. Required Education, Experience & Training BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major MBA, CPA, CMA is preferred but not required 3-5 years of experience in financial management in a manufacturing/automotive environment preferred Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office and ERP Software is a must Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
