Job DescriptionThe Accounting and Finance Specialist will split his/her time between Accounting (60%) and sales deal financing (35%). The A/F Supervisor coordinates finance, insurance and sales deal requirements/processes, as well as managing Michaels Cycle Works accounting functions, as defined by the Group Controller. In addition, the holder of this role will prepare, submit, and rectify any deficiencies in lender or deal requirements according to best practices and legal requirements.Primary duties and responsibilities, not limited to:Accounting (60% of time):Reconciles bank statements and vendor invoicesReconciles cash drawers for retail facilityEnters AP/AR transactions in Lightspeed and/or Great PlainsPrepares check runsReconcile and file quarterly tire TaxReconcile and file monthly sales tax reportAudit, reconcile, and pay floor plan, as requiredCreates journal entries for inter-company transactionsMaintain appropriate office supply levels in office and dealershipCompare price and quantity received on purchase orders to manufacturer invoicesMaintain well-organized file-keeping systemSafeguards sensitive Company and employee dataCreates various reports for use by accounting, management, and other constituentsSales and Sales Deal Processing (35% of time):Review sales deals for accuracy, take corrective action, and finalize in DMSReview financing documents for accuracy and take corrective action as necessarySubmit financing documents to appropriate lender, correct deficiencies, and resubmit as appropriateEstablish and maintain good working relationships with lenders and insurance product sourcesSafeguards all personally identifiable information according to industry best practices, local, state, and Federal regulations (such as, Red Flags, OFAC and Safe-Guards rules)Processes motor vehicle and warranty registrationsParticipates in weekly sales meetings regarding F&I training and issuesRegularly interact and successfully collaborate with employees and customersOther Duties (5% of time):Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
